Mixed emotions… mix thirty billion emotions in a bowl and the result will be Lilycott 😛
Hello!! Hopefully this won’t be too long, since I don’t have to many recent pictures, but I still have a couple past ones to show, we’ll see!
On to the post!!
Let’s start off with some happy news, Winnie is moving!! It’s not that I don’t like her, I actually think she’s really cute and I like her lime green house (background of picture), but it’s where she was that really was bothering me, I planned on having a café there, and then realized it was just a terrible idea to place anything there, because no matter what I did it forced me to turn my path in an awkward way.
And more happy news: T.I.Y opened up!! I have to say, though, I was most excited because that means the flower shop’s stock got expanded.
I can’t get over his cuteness.
Any I think I’m finally finished with my “fruit salad” area, I managed to fit every type of fruit with a bench looking by the cliff 😀
I couldn’t believe this, I can finally sit on my tree!! YAAAAAAAYY!! And I totally wasn’t expecting a -History of Lilycott- to show up!
Katie decided to visit, this time she wasn’t a crying lost kitty looking for her mom, she was just looking for adventure in other towns!
Sadly no friends were online to bring her over, but I coincidentally fell into this pitfall trap and she got worried! Aww
Look how pretty it is! Arrg, if I could just place this in town, it’s gorgeous!
I decided that a rack of rice would look convenient in my farm area, currently it’s surrounded by perfect peach trees and it looks quite good! 🙂
But- Winnie- no- I, I didn’t- what? why?
I am aware that all these flowers aren’t the same type (some are lilies and some are violets) but they I always though they looked similar, and don’t purple violets look like hybrids? 😛
I actually saw this in action and it lit up and was sooo cool! But I was too cheap to buy it, hehe.
Oh don’t mind me, just casually watering red carnations my dad sent me.
Everyone has nets, but I have… *dun dun dun* a silver net!
She didn’t mention they protected from mosquitoes, did she?
Heheh, I like imagining the fact that Leif walks around my town, early in the morning when no one sees him.
Oh the fact that the sun was still shining was kinda weird.
Aww, she kinda sounds like me!! I’ve got reeeeeaaally pale skin, so the sun ain’t no friend of mine…
Daylight club lights!
Finally was able to breed a pink tulip, man for some reason these are really hard!!
Having fun with a megaphone >:)
What? But she said it was almost perfect, and I- I… awww noo! The only reasonable explanation is that the rice rack lowered the rating? I even counted my trees…
I decided to be brave and build a permanent PWP, I built the Reset Surveillance Center in a corner of town, where I didn’t really have much planned, and it’s kind of an alienated zone of town (not to mention with a rock in the middle of it), so I don’t think I’ll mind a space being occupied by it 🙂
Awee, for once he’s being nice! He better be, I’m the mayor!!
Give it to me!
Hoping for dandelion puffs to spawn…
I’m not sure if she says this every time, but she just described a spot in Lilycott…
Deciding placed for the placement of the cafe (any suggestions are welcome!), so far I still haven’t decided so I cancelled the project.
I don’t think I’ll be able to pay them all off, I think I won’t even build a back room, and I’ll design a bathroom just to have an excuse to keep a room small 😛
Jemma’s bed hair! ^^
Why did you have to request the ugly one?
There was a weird lighting situation going on, at first I though it was some special sunset, as Amy says, but the sky was rather cloudy… doesn’t matter, it was still pretty! ^^
Aww, cute! Graham decided to call me “my friend” in french!
I also set up a new suspension bridge to lead to my beach area of town, my other bridges will be brick ones, but I though that having a wooden bridge would help complement the beach theme.
A little path to lead up to it! ^^
And ugh, this was the curve I was telling you about, however…
Winnie moved after all! Which at first I thought was amazing news since I could finally straighten up my path, but look at that massive dirt path that was left!! I’m going to need some serious grass-rehab methods! 😦
It got a little better… and then it got much worse and we were back to having a HUGE loss of grass!
And just in case that wasn’t enough bad news, a ROCK was completely in my way! And not just in a way that could be hidden with a tree or something, it was right where my corner would go…
So, I had to remove all my paths up to my house just to reveal more dirt paths, I don’t like this… I don’t like this one bit!
And this is the result -.- I couldn’t even pick up the flowers at that moment because my pockets were full, but there are better pictures further down this post.
However this hippie-ish random flower placement doesn’t look that bad 😛
I’m still not sure how I’ll connect the town tree with the main path, I wasn’t expecting to have a random corner popping out, but I’m sure I’ll be able to work something out.
Next day (after the chaos, haha)
I was feeling happy! 😛
I added more seashells to reach my, now further north, main path.
And this is what it looks like after the proper flower placements! I think it’ll be worth it!
… once I fix THIS.
Ariadna out, as well!! (Bye, bye! Have a great day!)

You have resetting? Or was it his first visit? 😄 I think its so much more peaceful with no resetting around. Grass loss is awful.. I’d you leave the patches alone they take 6 months to grow back. 🍄
Hahah yes I did build the Reset Surveillance Center 😛 I don’t mind it, I only reset when I’ve made a huge mistake or something and when I do, I think it’s kinda nice to have him back.
Oh no!! 6 months?? Hmm well I’m gonna have to come up with something to hide them a little bit.
😛 yeah, he was way more nicer trying to get his job back, but I don’t really want him.
Well, I don’t know if that’s true but it said on Wikipedia about the patches. Maybe you could cove them with a PWP, bushes or flowers?
Aww it’s great that the scrolling history of your town when sitting under your tree was a surprise to you 😀 I’d been ‘spoiled’ about that from seeing others’ screenshots and visiting dream towns. But wow, congratulations on your tree already getting to that size (doesn’t feel like it’s been that long) 🙂
I love putting lilies and violets together too! ^^ A pretty big portion of my town is mostly centered on lily+violet arrangements. I love the range of colors lilies and violets have when you put them together, and they do have a very similar shape. And the slightly different shape adds visual interest, imo!
Woww that’s so cool about Katrina describing a spot in your town I mean, I’m sure the dialog is pre-programmed and all, but very cool and eerie!
Oh, I have seen that strange lighting too! I do think it’s different than that special fiery sunset, but it’s definitely sort of a special sunset in itself because you don’t get lighting like that everyday! Here’s a pic from when I had it in my town.
It’s fun seeing pictures from your everyday antics and from town events and development 😀 I’m sorry that you’ve been having some difficulties with working with your layout..but be sure that many, many people have the same problem and still work around their town’s “faults” to produce a beautiful town! Rocks are especially a common problem for many people.
Hehe, some people would be very happy to have grasswear paths like that! 😛 But I guess you’re not happy about them because you don’t want to have a path there any longer at all, right? Don’t worry, though, it doesn’t take all that long for the grass to grow back! After a month or so you should see significant progress in the grass re-growth if you avoid walking/running on those areas for the most part. You can also regrow it quickly by TTing ahead one month, and then TTing back one month. Just make sure to TT on a day that you’ve convinced one of your neighbors to stay in your town; then no one will move away when you TT.
Yeah, the History of my town was definitely a very pleasant surprise! I’m sorry it had been spoiled to you! But just a couple days ago (3, to be exact) was my town’s 2nd month anniversary! It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long to me, either! Although I have been playing at least an hour every day, hahah.
I think it also adds some interest, when you put lilies and violets together, and I’ll have to experiment with the color palettes they both give! 😀
That’s a very pretty picture of your town! I still haven’t every seen in “real life” (real game? haha) a fiery sunset, and I’m very intrigued to see one!!
Aww thanks for the tips, for now I don’t think I’ll be TTing, I’ve read that whenever you water flowers on top of the dirt area, that increases the grass growth. So I think I’ll just try that and let nature follow it’s course, hehe.
I guess some people would actually want those dirt paths, haha, if I could only transport them to another area in town, but they look a bit off leading nowhere and right next to my main path 😛
I think you’ve seen a fiery sunset on the island at least, right? But yeah, it’s a bit more rare to see it in your actual town!
Actually from my personal experience, I don’t recommend trying to re-grow grass by watering gardens on the dirt every day. Because you have to walk on the dirt to water the flowers on the dirt, you know? (Unless you have a gold watering can or something.) I had the best luck personally when I just completely avoided the area and didn’t walk on it at all. Just my two cents, though, of course! 🙂
Oh, thank you for saying that!! I have a silver watering can, so I’ve been watering them avoiding walking on the dirt, but I still have to step on it a little bit, maybe I should just leave it alone, thank you!!
Yeah, I have on the island but I’m very intrigued to see how my town looks like with a fiery sunset 🙂
It’s been 2 months since you “took office”? 😮 I feels like only yesterday when we got the good news that you finally got ACNL and now you can already sit under the tree T^T Though to you it probably still feels like a long time 😛
Don’t you love how all the NPCs’ stories progressed a little? Especially Katie who’s grown into a brave adventurous young lady. (The first time she came to my town I had bad luck, and I was the one falling over everywhere 😆 )
That is really weird and misleading of Winnie to say she’s moving on and off =_= I’m glad it went smoothly in the end.
Lol, the summer solstice in NL is kinda crazy 😛 Last year I’d just got the game too and I had the game on nearly all day waiting to see when the heck the sun was going to set, and gave up when I saw it was still bright and sunny at 10pm -_-
The seashell paths are nice! They turned out really well considering shells fall slightly differently in different squares. And they let you have curved paths; good idea 😀
Haha, ohhh grasswear xP Don’t worry, the dirt will be gone in no time–if you don’t think about it!
And I seriously doubt grass takes 6 months to grow back. By the time that passes it’ll be winter already and any dirt has trouble even existing in the winter (because of snowstorms)… Anyway grass grows back way quicker than 6 months, but you’ll just have to be mindful to keep off the area. The exceptions are any permanent dirt patches that all towns have when they’re created.
Time goes so fast!! Even for me it still feels like I got the game a week ago or so 😛
I sure do love how NPCs are different in every game, I love how they evolve and I couldn’t believe how Katie had changed! Although I think I miss the old Blathers a little bit, with his huge head and he used to talk a lot more!
Thanks, Teru!! I’m glad you like the seashell path, it’s a little frustrating to create, since they never seem to fall however you want them too 😛
I’m so relieved to see both you and Amy say that it won’t take 6 months for the grass to grow back, I’ve hid them a bit with some flowers but I’ll keep off the area completely form now on 😀
Oh yeah I miss the old Blathers too, and Celeste got the short end of the stick this time with a really boring job I think >.<
I actually kept a bit of a record of some grasswear outside my cafe for a time so here’s an example of grass recovery over 3 month period. (The patch with the clover was permanent.)
Oh my god, thank you!! You can definitely see a huge improvement over the first month, and in 3 months it’s pretty much completely gone! 😀
Lilycott starting to look really nice ^^ I’m sorry to hear about the dirt paths forming under your design paths. I suggest you walk on your paths instead of running, so the grass won’t wear as much. Anyways good luck with everything in your town =)
Yeah, I’ve started to walk instead of running all over town, but it’s kinda slow 😛
Thank you so much!!
Hey Jemma! I was wondering if you wanted to try for a four-friend WiFi again with you, me, Choco, and Teru? Teru and I were thinking that 6 AM my time, on Saturday June 12, would be good for both of us, and that would be 12 PM your time I think. (Aren’t you 6 hours ahead of me? Feel free to double-check; I’m North American Eastern Daylight Time, and your New Leaf page says you’re CET, but I’m not sure if there are any daylight savings things to consider.) Anyway, if this time works out for you (or not), let me know! 🙂
Yay, this Saturday at 12pm is okay for me, and yes I am 6 hours ahead of you, since I’m six hours ahead of Choco and you guys are 12hours apart, right? I’m still CET time 😀
Sorry I had to let you know just one day before, hope it’s still okay for you!!
Aww, you’ll have to wake up early, hope you can still get a good night sleep!
Oh, also, I appreciate your and Teru’s message on the 3DS Friend List thingy, I’ve been quite busy and I probably would’ve forgot to check my blog if it weren’t for the message! So thank you
Yayyyy I’m very happy you can make it!! See you soon!
